applique portraits

I would like to know if there is a way to take a photo and turn it into an applique to quilt. If anyone has done this or if there is a tutorial to do this. Thanks Karen

http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...s-t130238.html Is this what you had in mind? I did a search on the quilting Board....several possibilities came up.

I did a dog portrait, "Butch". You can see it in the pictures section on this board. It was a result of a class I took at my quilt guild. The instructor has books on the subject.

I don't know why you couldn't adapt Rose Hughes way of doing this. I first saw her video on martingdaleand company.com that led me to a youtube video. So you can find her, I suppose, by going to either site. Her video is How to machine applique in a new way: Fast-Piece Applique. (Sorry I can't get the link on here but it's easy.)

I took a pet portraits class from Aniko Feher through my guild. She is a great resource for people portraits too.
