What are the most popular applique quilt designs these days? What do you like?

I love to make applique baby quilts. I make my own patterns using coloring pages from the internet.

I make quite a lot of Project Linus quilts, Teddies are always favourites, A,B,C, lettering, numbers 1 - 10, simple trucks & trains for the boys, prams for the girls. I have also done simple shapes for early recognition games, i.e. ball/circle, star, moon and square. Hope that gives you a few ideas.

Right now I'm working on the "Sally Post Floral Sampler". Also want to start on "Flower Pots" from www.fatcatpatterns.com and "Baltimore Bliss" (same website). Have other quilt projects going on at the same time. There just aren't enough hours in the day. :?

Thanks! I've been looking for some printable block letters but haven't had much luck yet.

I found a good sized set from Quiltmaker magazine, Sept/Oct 2001, issue 81. I have put in a link, but don't know if it is still available. Hope this helps.

Sorry, forgot to add that it was titled: School Spirit (applique letters) They are rather angular, but I have done several variations now, some with more rounded corners.

It's taking me a while, lots of small pieces. Ruth will probably finish before I do. Can't wait to see hers :!:
