Can anyone tell me if you'd use fusible in a fan quilt, and then applique around the edges and the fan seams? Or just applique, no fusible. I just thought maybe the fusible would prevent slipping (altho I pin a lot!)

Sometimes people use School Glue to paste down their bindings. Ironed on it makes them accurate. Then it washes out in the washing machine. I'm going to use it with some applique I'm doing right now.

I'm hoping to start one of these this year, and I fully intend to use fusible. I'm interested to hear what others have done, though.

I've done it with raw-edge applique just around the outer edges using a fusible. My "fan" was large, and the fusible worked much better than pins for keeping everything in place.

I did mine without fusible. I didn't have any problems.

There is a spray similar to basting spray just for applique :D:D:D
