Brain dead today... I am making a baby quilt which has sheep on it I don't want to blanket stitch the sheep or machine applique can I sew the sheep to a piece of backing fabric, slit the back turn in the right way then hand stitch onto the quilt ??
I hate these days when the brain doesn't work very well.... |
Yes, you can do it that way. I've seen instructions from Eleanor Burns using this method.
Sounds like it will be a cute baby quilt. |
Thank you .. It is kinda a copy of a Mcalls pattern that we can't get here...
|
sure, make them any way you want...your project; make them any way you want, no one here is going to tell you you can not do it the way you want.

I think that is a great idea. I can't do any hand work but I have done this with the buttonhole stitch on my machine. It turned out pretty darn good.

Thank you for your replies. I just wanted to give it a bit of dimension .Thinking about putting polyester or cotton batting in the middle so it puffs out a bit more ...Will experiment.

Layer your fabrics and the batting, trim the batting very closely to the stitching before turning :D:D:D
You can also do the head, legs and tail separate, and then lay the batting filled body on top. |
