When you make aprons do you make them single or double thicknesses?

Sadiemae 10-31-2010 08:39 AM

I make my aprons single thickness if not reversible. Double thickness if reversible.

I've always made mine single. That's how my grandmother made them and it's good enough for me! I usually get more dirty than wet when I cook so one thickness of fabric is enough. I am such a slob when I cook I use aprons quite often.

At least YOU cook. LOL

When making a reversible do you just ut cut 2 pieces and sew to turn it outside right and put pockets on both sides?

If I'm using a heavier weight fabric, like denim, I do one thickness, if I want it to be reversible I use 2 thicknesses. In my class my kids make their aprons one thickness but we use stabilizer on the inside of the pockets to make them sturdier.
