This thing took me forever to make. The embroidery was an hour, the binding around the neck was a pain to do and my tension on my machine was off when I started quilting so I got frustrated and just started scribbling with the machine. I'm out of the baby bib business! I quit.

gaigai 03-30-2011 08:57 PM

It came out so cute. Thank you for sharing with us. Love it
After all that trouble. If you ever try it again it will be a breeze. LOL

That is really cute! But I feel your pain. I cut out several bibs thinking this will be quick and easy. A root canal would have been more fun, I absolutely hated making them. I did find a better bib pattern on this site, making a yoke and attaching a wash cloth - those I enjoy doing!

MoMiMi 03-30-2011 09:32 PM

Too cute. I love making bibs out of scraps, but I'm wierd and old. HaHa

RobertaMarie 03-30-2011 09:35 PM

It is just darling. So sorry it troubled you, but just think of all the drool it will catch from some sweet baby! Don't give up, just take a deep breath, relax, have a cup of something soothing, and start again another time.
Blessings.

jaciqltznok 03-30-2011 10:43 PM

I am sorry it was a pain,it is a really sweet design, it seems too good for something that will just get spit upon!

pamkasperi 03-30-2011 10:46 PM

But its adorable! Not 1 million dollars adorable but still adorable!

cjr 03-30-2011 10:47 PM

Bib is very cute. Working on all that detail on something is difficult. Try another, maybe do less quilting.

jtquilts 03-31-2011 12:15 AM

I can understand your frustration . . . I think we all have had a project like this. BUT, your bib is so cute!

quilterella 03-31-2011 01:05 AM

That is sooooo adorable. Too bad it was so frustrating for you...don't give up yet...the next one may be easier!

Yooper32 03-31-2011 01:12 AM

Pretty cute scribbling if you ask me.

akrogirl 03-31-2011 01:25 AM

I love it - you did a great job! Would you mind telling us where you got the pattern?

Quilting Angel 03-31-2011 02:01 AM

Oh don't quit. It's adorable, and I think the quilting looks great.

Shelbie 03-31-2011 03:01 AM

Your bib looks great. For the next time, the very simplest bib is to take a washcloth, cut a U about 1 1'2' wide by 2 1/2' deep in the top centre of the washcloth for the neckline and bind it with one piece of binding (30"or so) leaving the tails of the binding long enough to be the ties (about 12") of the bib). You can use a fancy stitch to anchor the binding around the neck or just use a straight stitch along the tie, around the neck and up the other tie in one continuous line. These bibs can be made to use a mealtime and then I just take them and as they are a washcloth, wet them and wash up baby and throw it in the wash. I make every new arrival a pile of these. Easy and practical but not as cute as your bunny!

pocoellie 03-31-2011 04:01 AM

It sure is cute though.

Dee G 03-31-2011 04:03 AM

Adorable bib! I love it! Guess you felt like the bunny :-)

dd 03-31-2011 04:29 AM

That is so adorable. I've been making handtowel bibs for my grandson who is 2. I cut a hole in one end, about 5 1/2", put 11" of ribbing in the hole and applique something cute on the other end. He is covered when he eats and I use the towel to clean up then. Goes in the washer and dryer like a charm. He has a whole stack of these and chooses which bib to use at meals at my house. Sorry, no quilting on these bibs.

Mariposa 03-31-2011 04:42 AM

Great job on a really cute bib!!

EdieClay 03-31-2011 04:50 AM

I know how you feel. I have several quilts that I call "museum" quilts - one of a kind ... meaning I'm never making another one of them! The bib is really cute even though it was a pain in the anatomy to make!

lovingmama 03-31-2011 04:58 AM

Cute!

babyboomerquilter 03-31-2011 07:18 AM

Sometimes I get frustrated with my projects, so I walk away for a while, when I come back to it, its not as bad
