Just curious, but have you tried out other machines?? Don't want to discourage you from purchasing the machine, I just like to shop around first. Took me a LONG time to decide on a LA. JC

I looked at a bunch of different ones at the Lancaster show, took my DD for a 2nd set of eyes/opinion. She loved the Handiquilter, which as I understand is the same as the Crown Jewel. I didn't seem overly impressed with one over the other there, but when I went to my local sewing machine store and they took the time to really show me the CJ with the tablet attachment, I was wowed (as was DH). They have 48 month financing starting toward the end of April (which I'm sure runs periodically) but that is a bonus.

Handi Quilter makes the machine for Babylock. Great product!

The BL Crown Jewel was on my list of potential purchases. If I remember correctly, it doesn't need to be oiled, which is a positive, but that might be because it doesn't stitch as quickly. However, I've never needed to stitch super fast anyway. I mean, how fast would you really want to go anyway?

The price on the BL is better than the HQ too (at least around here anyway) and the computer update on it is really nice and easy to figure out.

I did not like the bobbin winder. It was not attached to the machine. To me it looked like a middle school project. Otherwise, I did like that machine a lot. I chose a different machine, but my final decision was based on local dealer support more than anything else.

Good luck on your decision. Isn't it exciting?
