Does anyone have a Baby Lock Quilters Choice and do you like it? I looked at one on sale today at a local shop. Thinking of replacing my Singer.

I have the Baby Lock Quilter dream series. I love it. I don't think you can go wrong with Baby Lock. Just the fact that you will have a dealer to help you learn to use it and the maintance work done is worth it. If you feel comfortable when you sit and sew on it I say go for it. Good Luck

I do not own the Babylock Quilting one but I do own a Babylock and it has been my baby for years! If its on sale its really worth the money! Good Luck in your choice!

I just looked and I don't see the quilter's dream series, what is that? The quilters choice machine that I looked at does so much more than the really cheap Singer that I have, I don't know if you really need all those different stitches. The sale price is $999. Do you have any idea if that is a good price? I didn't sit down and sew on it, just looked. Went to JoAnns and looked at the Viking Emerald 203. I don't know much about sewing machines as I've only been quilting for a short time.

Baby Lock "Espire" Quilters Dream Series is the top of the line quilting machine. I paid $1,800.00 for it.You could go to the Baby LOck web site and get a better Idea. My machine has the threader, knee lift, needle down, peddle free, and so many different stiches. It is computerized and works like a dream.

I have three Babylock machines.....I have two that embroider, the Ellure and my big baby, an Elegante2 that is new and I Love it! My Ellure I keep at the LQS where I work.

I also have a Decorator's Choice machine, and I think the Quilters Choice is in that group. I use my D. Choice all the time while my Eleg. is embroidering, it's a great machine. I have a fantastic dealer also. Not sure if that's a good price or not... You would be happy with a Babylock I am thinking...I sure am!

Yes, I have the Baby Lock Quilters Choice Pro on a NewJoy quilt frame. So, I am only using it for the quilting, but I am very happy with her. I have had her for almost 3 years, and it took me a while to learn to live with her, but once we got to know each other, we are happily quilting together. She likes to be clean and oiled, so I do that after each and every quilt. She gets a little cranky if she gets too linty....or too dry. But, she runs like crazy otherwise, row after row of quilt after quilt. I would recommend that model to you.

I have the Babylock Quilters choice, I bought mine used this past september and it was only a yr old max. because it was a trade in. i paid 650.00 for it. This is my very first sewing machine so I don't really know how to compare but I love it. I just recently saw a new one in the store and the buttons and screen were a bit different.

I must admit I am disappointed with my babylock quilter's machine. The first time I used it, the walking foot fell apart. The dealer I purchased the machine from advised me to buy a Janome walking foot because it was "better made".

Be careful when you use this machine. The needle has two settings : one center and one slightly to the left. The default setting is to the left. If you use the quilting foot and don't center the needle it will snap. I learned this the hard way : The needle snapped on my machine and flew into my eye. I quickly changed the default setting to center, let me tell you.

I am now working on another quilt and am finding that the automatic thread cutter is not working at all. Soooo, tomorrow it will go back again to the dealer to see what is wrong this time.

I have the Quest Plus (Quilter's Dream Series) and I love it. I had an Espire for many years and last year when I decided to start quilting I upgraded. I just like Babylock.

I was looking at this machine too but bought a Juki TL98Q. It is basically the same machine and hundreds less too! I love my Juki.

I am thinking of buying the Baby Lock Quilters Choice too, my local sewing center is a dealer and the owner loves hers.

I just cannot justify spend $3500 for a Bernina QE when I know this does the same thing just does not have the Stitch regulator on it.

I have the Baby Lock Quilters Dream Series, Espire. I just love it. My dealer here is a joy to have. He does my yearly check- up and has not found any problems yet. I know my machine does more things than I will ever use, but it is nice to have them. You are getting a good price, compared to mine, so I say go for it, (but don't blame if it blows up; Ha Ha.)

I have the BabyLock Decorators Choice and I absolutely love it. I've had it for about 4 years now, and wouldn't part with it. I've only had it in for service once - jammed it with thread in the bobbin area after doing a large flannel and jeans quilt. It's been an absolute workhorse. I also have a Singer 401, which I have kept as a backup, but haven't had to use it.

Fel, I have a baby lock espire. My sister gave me hers (thank you very much!) I am wondering how you set the needle default to center. I can't find instructions for doing that. I can move the needle to center, but the next time I turn the machine on, it goes back to left. I would LOVE to change the default on my machine. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have the Baby Lock Quilters Choice, ESE 2, and the Ellegante.
The Baby Lock Quilters Choice is the machine I use almost all of the time. I bought it last year and I think the new models are called Melody but they are the same machines.

I can truthfully say it has a wonderful motor but like other gals say, the needle always starts in the left position so when I am done sewing, I push the button and drop the foot so that I remember to reset needle position each time I sew.

I just think Baby Lock is the most user friendly machine on the market.

What I did was to go to the Baby Lock dealer once a week and sewed on all their machines and then brought my own material.
I did that for months. Truly!!! When I finally bought, I knew I had made the right choice. It is also a good way to PREVIEW the DEALERS, how helpful, free lessons with your machine? not to mention how they treat you BEFORE you buy.

I have a Babylock Quest Plus. LOVE it! But $999 is too much for the Quilters Choice IMO. Some folks have gotten the Quest Plus for that, and it has Pfaff-like dual feed and a wider harp. No auto cut though. I'd try to get the QC for $600 or less, or get a QP for $999 or get a Janome 3160 for $600-650.

I have a Babylock Quilter's Choice Pro and really like it. I really just piece and quilt (FMQ and SID) and this machine works great for that. It is not fancy, has a workhorse of a motor, and is very smooth and solid. I have a newer Singer that I use if I want to do decorative stitching, but my main machine is the Quilter's Choice. The new model name for the Quilter's Choice Pro is Jane. I'm seriously considering buying a Jane for the day that my current Babylock needs replacing (far, far into the future hopefully!) - that's how much I like this machine.

I bought the Babylock Quilter's Choice (floor demo model) 2 years ago for $879.00. The dealer has been good to work with. I have difficulty winding bobbins on it - thread seems to get loopy, and make sure you get the wlaking foot included - it costs $75.00 if you have to buy one! I've taken the class, but only used a few of the decorative stitches.

just a year late. I found with my machine that everything kind of goes foofoo when I don't clean out the lint in and under the race, which is the part that holds the bobbin. So I stop at beginning, middle and end to clean out and my qc is happy.

The Juki 98, the Brother 1500 S, and the Baby Lock Quilter look almost alike. Depends on what you can afford. I could only afford the great price I gave on Amazon for the Brother and I am so happy with it. Pauline

I have the Baby Lock Quilters Choice, have had it nearly 5 years, enjoy sewing with it. I love the automatic threader and scissors. The only thing I would change is a larger area for rolling a large quilt in when quilting. It is a wonderful machine, my dealer is closeby if I have problems, which I have had. It is good to not have to go far, when things are out of whack on a machine. I have thought what I should do, a new machine would be great, but not sure I would gain enough of what I use to warrant the cost.

I have one and love it! It's easy to use and has great bells and whistles.

I totally agree with you. They are very good machines.

Though this thread is six years old, I'm looking at a used one at the local sewing shop. These reviews are great!

It's a great machine! I use it on an older Grace frame and it works like a charm. I bought it used and it's like a tank as far as durability and it makes such nice stitches. It's so dependable and it has a metal case which makes it nice for placing a magnetic pin cup on top while I'm pinning the quilt to the leader cloth. I didn't know much about it when I bought it but I love it now.

Then you haven't oiled the source of the squeak. There are usually many more oiling points in a machine than the manual shows.
