Can/Should I Embrorider on baby onsies? Would it be too rough for the baby's skin?

I can handle the bibs -- but they don't lay right on the baby, there's usually a layer of clothes to buffer...

I've been arguing with myself about this for a month, finally decided to ask the experts!

That's a good question!! I wonder if you used a very soft or water soluable stabilier if that would be OK.

Sorry, not a better answer!

By the way, those are darling!!!!

The bibs are darling! I don't know anything about embroidery machine stabilizers, but could you use flannel? That might not be as scratchy.

Where did you get your plain bibs from? I am looking for some for our upcoming great granddaughter. Yours came out so cute.

They do sell a woven interfacing that kind of looks like cheese cloth. I don't know it is called. I bought it at a quilt store.

Those bibs are SO cute! I'm new to the embrodery, so sorry, no answer!

When you do filled designs, not only are they scratchy on the skin, they also pull on the fabric when is washed. The ones with letters are probably a better choice. The stabilizer is usually pulled away so it doesn't matter which one you use, unless you use a cut away one. The best I have used for this purpose is called Steady Stuff by Ricky Tims. It comes as 8.5 x 11 inches or on a roll. You can cut it away or leave some of it around. When wet it becomes like a real soft poly and doesn't hurt when it rub against the skin. You can get it at www.thequiltshow.com.

There is a stabilizer that is used under knitted garments like a sweater. I used it when embroidering T shirts. It is soft and has a smooth texture. It is called Soft'n Sheer Cut-away by sulky. You can also find stuff like that on the Sew Beautiful site.
