my dau is pregnant and thinking of using a bug theme - i think she came up with this as she collects lady bug theme things - and lately dragonflys - so she figured she could use a lot of stuff she already had. She does not plan to find out the sex before hand so I found this fabric - yellow which will be good if boy or girl. My Q is what kind of pattern would you use so not as to lose too much of the print design? what other colors would you incorporate?

That fabric is adorable. You could do a warm wishes layout. It has lots of colors you could use that are gender neutral.

Warm wishes has a bigger focal square

Attic window features fabric nicely but you have to deal with mitered seams.

My favorite pattern is the 9-patch (or 4-patch) with an alternating block from the feature fabric.

I would use Warm Wishes or this Strippie quilt. http://www.maryquilts.com/quick-strippie/

I'd add green and blue for coordinating colors. That fabric is SO cute!

I have a pattern I'll send to you. (If you want it.) I used a similar bug fabric and used Giddy Dot fabric that coordinated with it. My co-worker loved it. PM me with your mailing info if you want the pattern.

Here is a link to a picture of the quilt I made:
