The terry cloth does shed as you are working with it but works great as a backing or for whole bib. Just do an "x" on the bib to keep layers together.

The laminated fabric is very soft and flexible. That is what I used to make the bibs with the diaper backing. It feels and drapes like fabric not like vinyl or plastic at all. I lined the baby bag I made for DD with some, excellent for a changing pad. It's easy to do machine quilting on it too. It will last to be passed down to other babies for a long time.

Another thought, buy the big pack of wash cloths from Walmart and use those as backing. If you have yardage or an old towel to use, lay the top fabric already cut to size on top of the terry cloth and sew around it without cutting. Then cut the sewn bib out of the terry cloth, add binding. No fuzzy ravelings to deal with.

I never thought of the wash cloths or hand towels that are already at the stores. I bet that might be cheaper than buying it by the yard at joanns!!!

THIS is a great idea..!!
