Does anyone know either the names or numbers of the batiks used in the Strawberry Fields set? I would like to purchase more of just one of the colors but I can't find the names of the fabrics listed anywhere. know that this color set has been discontinued but I am hoping that I can locate a bolt somewhere.

Were the Bali Pops created from fabrics that were already in the line or were they created specifically just to be Bali Pops?

If anyone is familiar with the set I am looking for the vibrant orange.

You might have trouble finding an exact match where it's discontinued, but would probably have a better chance if you post a picture of it. I believe they sold yardage of all of the prints. If you can't find one, why not purchase some yardage of a similar colored batik, and cut a strip or 2 to incorporate into the set. Then it would match! :)

Katier825 - I had planned to use that specific color for the center of some blocks but I'm probably going to redesign if I can't find more of it. I always get into this kind of trouble with my fabric!

What if you replace that particular print with another similar one? Another thought...have you tried some of the online fabric stores, just searching for orange batik? This shop, Seawatch Fabrics has many batiks.

I did, however, come across something that I have not seen before: Alpaca and wool batting. As a knitter I love that combination. I can imagine a quilt would be so warm with that batting. I am going to have to try it.

Bali Pops are Hoffman Batiks. They don't have lines for the batiks. Your best bet is to just take swatches to the LQS for some or when you are shopping online.

Ah, but they most certainly do.
But not the same way the prints do.

Each color, whether solid or mottled or combo had it's own number and/or name.

Each pattern, whether solid or blocked, has its own number.

For instance, here is the latest offerings from the BatiksPlus blog (the mothership of Hoffman Batik info):

So the solid handpaints are "line" 1895 plus the color number.

Mottleds are "line" 839 and the colorway.

If you look at the first batch on the blog, DENIM is a colorway, and the pattern is H2272 (the squares batik).

The other DENIMS are the same dyed color, but if you want that pattern in a different color, you can scroll down to H2272 COFFEE.

So there is a method.

Sadly, a lot of shops don't list by these numbers so it's really hard to match, especially on colorways that are really, really close.

But they're getting better than they used to be. Especially the ones on quiltshops.com. They might not have the info in the same format, but at least the color/pattern numbers are provided.

eQuilter is another story. I always have to call to confirm if what I think I'm looking at on their site is really the batik I think it is.

Yes, they have their own item numbers, but I meant if she was putting it in a search engine, there isn't a 'line name' other than Hoffman Batiks. I'm familiar with how the numbers work. :)

Batiks Plus should still have a listing of all the fabric contained in the Strawberry Fields. When I bought mine, I printed from their website all the identifying fabrics so I could purchase my border fabrics. Just email them.
