New to the site. I pieced the Scrap Basket from BH&G Am patchwork & quilting mag. April 2010 cover. I may have been to sure of myself. The points on my bottom trianles are cut off. I tried to redo them, but to no avail. Thought maybe no one would notice so put the entire quilt - including double flying geese all around. You guess it My eyes go straight to those cut off triangles. I put the top away, thinking if I looked at it with some time passing maybe - but it's just not right. I don't want to spend 2 to $300 on having it quilted
Help What should I do? |
I have found once a quilt is quilted, and washed the "flaws" blend into the quilt. I think maybe you are being to hard on your work. By the way, Welcome from Louisiana!:)

It is no wonder that you "see" those points because your mind knows where the flaw is. I wonder if you would still see it after it is quilted. If you post a picture your fellow QB quilters will tell you if it's a problem.
You would be amazed at how well quilting hides things. If you like the quilt top, I would finish it. :)
Tie it and finish it anyway.
Don't worry; no one will notice but you. Once it is quilted you will love it & so will everyone else. Please
show us when finished. |

Here are some pictures that might help That could help you see just how bad it is. . .
that is not bad at all. if they are all consistently cut off like that, then that was your intention, right?!
You are being way to hard on yourself. If you have this quilted with some circular type patterns, then wash it it will blend together and no one will know but you.
Is there some kinda law baskets have to have points??? Looks great to me!
