Being from MN, I am making a baby quilt for my new GN
in California, what type of batting would be appropriate for
a cotton quilt for her? Knowing that the weather is always
so much warmer there than in MN is Warm and Natural too heavy for the climate there?

I would use low loft.

They run A/C so warm and natural would be a great choice :D:D:D

I like to go with cotton because it feels good no matter what time of year it is.

Babies always tend to be cold. Especially if it warm out and the a/c is on.

CA is a huge state with many different microclimates. So, when you say CA, that really doesn't narrow it down. We have snow and skiing in the North and more mild climate towards the South. I live in CA (Sacramento area) and I use Warm and Natural with no problems.

I use warm and natural on a lot of my quilts. We may have 80 during the day but most nights it drops to the 50's-60's. If they live in the valley then they have the a/c running so it would still be ok

I am in Southern California and I use warm and natural and warm and white in all my quilts here. Just enough warmth for the cooler winter months but not too hot. Used that in the quilts for my grandbabies too and they live up in Northern California which gets colder than we do down here.

Thank you all for your responses. I was hoping that it would not be to warm for her not to be able to use it.

I use Warm and Natural for all my quilts. It is August and I still am using a quilt at night. We have cooler nights here.
