I'm working on a baby quilt that is to go to southern Texas. I usually put flannel on the back of baby quilts as they are more cuddly and more apt to stay put rather than sliding around on a lap or a stroller. Now I'm wondering about both the backing and the batting. What do our southern friends use on their quilts?

well i'm not south but warm and natural is what i use for batting because it's not heavy i hope that helpshttp://www.quiltingboard.com/compose...opicnum=37368#

Here in "HotLanta" its mostly Warm and Natural too. If it's a special quilt, I love the drape of bamboo.

For a lighter weight/summer quilt you can always use flannel as the batting too :D

When I make baby quilts for litttle ones I use fleece for the backing. That way I don't have to worry about batting and it quilts nice.

I have family in South Texas (Harlingen). For my niece's children I used Warm and Natural. There house has tile floors and I wanted something soft so the babies could lay on the floor.
