Bernina 135

I currently have a Bernina 135 Activa and am looking for a second machine without spenind more than $600. My LQS has a Bernina 135 Activa for $450. Is that a good price. I am thinking it is. Do any of you own a Bernina 135? Do you like it? Does it have good tension? Have you had any issues with it? Would you buy it again? I have a Bernina 230 now and I think they are very similar. I would appreciate any comments you have about the Bernina 135. Thanks.

I love my Bernina Activa 135, I've had it for about a dozen years now and have never had a problem. I looked at the big, new, expensive Bernina's and thought I wanted one, my husband even said someday......But since then I realize my 135 does everything I want a sewing machine to do and it is not at all intimidating. The only things I would change would be a bigger throat and an auto needle threader, but I've gotten along just fine and thoroughly enjoyed my sewing hours. YES, get the 135.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am like you--I don't need all the bells and whistles. I only use the straight stitch and the zig zag stitch. I do longarm quilting for customers and work another full time job so I don't even have that much time to make many of my own quilts. Thanks again for the comments.
