Best Iron?

I have had Rowenta.....made in Germany. One has started leaking and I need a good new iron....Any suggestions? I would love a long auto shut off time(or none) and a good heavy iron that I will use mainly for my quilting. I am currently looking at the Black and Decker D2030 and the Rowenta DS8090....both heavy irons...Just am not sure. Will appreciate any input on these or other irons with the above properties....:) Thank You......

I have a TFal with a long cord that I like. Auto shutoff, but I never trust those. I even unplug my toaster when I am done, I have seen it turn itself on!

Plus heard too many stories about iron fires here on QB.

PS, I like your avatar - what is the name of the pattern?

I have a Frigidaire Affinity and it is super heavy. (Which I like) seems like it has a long shut off to me. I have never timed it though.Good luck. I got mine free with a new washer and dryer. :o

i have a nice cordless auto shut off. trouble is... if you want to iron yardage, you have to put it back in the cradle to heat back up fairly frequently. my favorite quilting iron is the cheap one from WM
