I sew to back then iron the seam. Clip to the front with those red clips. Sew on the front by following the seam line of the back. You can see it if you use clips. I get better with each quilt.

I like to use Sharon Schambers method of starching the binding so it stays folded in half. I use Sta Flo starch mixed half and half with water in a small spray bottle from eyeglass cleaner. See her video. I don't mind the pressing because I know I will get beautiful results. Then instead of gluing I use Wonder Clips to hold the binding to the quilt. I prefer sewing to the front of the quilt and hand stitching with ladder stitch to the back. I just did the binding on a king size quilt with this method for a client. She was really pleased.

I finally got a beautiful binding with perfectly mitered corners with Sharon's method. It does take a while to do the gluing and ironing but the results were so worth it. (i attach the front and hand sew the back.)

I always machine stitch one side and finish the final side by hand. It gives me closure on the quilt and I enjoy knowing that it is being finished.

I've tried this on several quilts and it works great. It's an alternative to binding.

Walmart has many quilt books online that usually are cheaper then Amazon. I order and pick up at the local Walmart.

Another easy way would be to leave spare material on the backing and the turning that over to make a bindin ding and sew the edge with a fancy stitch.
