Sorry never used satin before. But I am sure someone on here can help. Good luck.

I have never used satin binding on a quilt either, but I am assuming it would go on the same way cotton binding does (only maybe a little slipperier) Here is a video tutorial for you--I am sure you can find others with a google search.

I'm sewing this by hand... I don't have a sewing machine that works the way it's supposed to...

That's a good video.
Thanks for sharing. :-)
When you turn the corner and start sewing the binding strip on the next side, do you start sewing 1/4" from the top OR from the very top??? :?:

From the very top(beginning) of the seam and end each side a 1/4" from the end :D:D:D

Thank you!
That's the way I've been doing it, from the very top.
But, on the video, I understood her to say start a 1/4" from the top.

I have never used that. I make my binding 2-3/4" wide fold in half and sew 2 loose sides to quilt w/machine on top and hand stitch on back side. I don't your stuff would hold up every well. I would invest in machine repair or machine for this. Just my opinion.

I'm hoping for a new machine... and I'm thinking of using some scrap fabric thats from the same set of squares that I used... I have not decided yet.
