I have a singer 403 a that uses cams and I am wondering if this is a blind hem stitch or a blanket stitch. I am needing a blanket stitch for applique and if you look at the finer stitching it still leaves a < shape in the zag part. So thinking that I have the wrong cam. I also posted the stitch in wide length so that may help in your determination.
Thanks for your help! Sheila |

double post, sorry!

I think it's a blind hem stitch. A blanket stitch would be straight in and out rather than a zig over and zag back.

yep, that is a blind hem stitch. :D:D:D

Looks like a blind hem to me.

That is a bling hem, but if your machine doen't have a blanket stitch you can use it at the narrow stitching and the result will be almost the same.

yes
|
Definitely blind hem.
|
Agreed it is the blind hem stitch.

Your photos show a blind hem. Look for a ladder stitch... or the reverse of a ladder stitch to achieve a machine blanket stitch.

I guess I don't have a blanket stitch, this is the stitch I use for applique. I have another stitch like this except the > goes to the right.

blind hem.

if it's close enough, it would still work for applique. just set it to a lower number.
