Bobbins with a hint of color ?
Do they make clear bobbins that have a hint of color in them? That way I could put my cotton in the clear ones, my poly in the ones that have a blue tinge, my really crummy basting thread in the ones that have a pink tinge...ect....
If someone has seen them, could you point me in the right direction? Thanks! |
If you have a Janome, they have made pink and blue bobbins.

Viking has them also. I use different bobbin boxes for different types of thread.

I just put dots on them with a permanent marker. I have two machines & this lets me tell which are Janome bobbins.
|
That was quick! Thanks.
I have a Kenmore that takes Janome bobbins, so will look there. |
I just keep mine in those rings that are sort of a soft rubber material....I have red and purple and blue (2 of each), so far. Works for me!

I have different containers I use for bobbins that have thread on them. The containers are labeled with the type of thread. (Bottom Line, quilting thread, embroidery bobbin thread, etc)

It can also depend on the make of your machine. My babylock model uses the bobbins that have a blue tint. Babylock also has clear bobbins which will not work in my model. The dealer makes to sure to double check which machine I have before they sell me extra bobbins. My janome uses the clear bobbins and when I have accidentally used the wrong bobbin in a machine my tension has been way off.

I would just use a marker and run it along the edges instead of buying all new bobbins just for a tint, mark them blue for poly and red for basting or however you like !
