Border color opinions please
3 Attachment(s)
I just finished piecing this Easter table topper and want to put at least one border on it. It feels to me like it should have a lighter color - either the light violet or blue but I have more of all the fairy frosts used in he star. However, I only have enough of the violet to do a 2" border. Should I do a narrow violet and then bind or maybe a 2nd color pulled from the star? I'd love hear QB'ers thoughts. I', planning to use the Easter egg fabric for the binding. The topper is 25" across without borders. Thanks!

I love purple and blue but my eye is drawn to the blue for the pop factor of the star. Good luck and I love it!! Fabulous
I would go for the blue myself.
I like the blue also!
Asolutely the blue.
No question about it - blue! Lovely!
Another vote for blue!

i would put the pink on first and then the blue. the pink makes the star points stand out more. the center is really gorgeous!

For me the purple washs out the color, but the blue makes it pop. I would only put a blue border.

what about the dark in the easter eggs? Maybe a little of that. I mean the Dark background behind the eggs
I like both so do the one you like best!

I like the violet. Think it helps everything pop better.
I would use the pink or as someone else said the dark background color for a narrow border than the blue or violet. Try both and use the one that speaks to you.
My vote is both! It is beautiful and so well done.

I think the violet makes the inner star shine, the blue seems to make the outer star points just blend into the border - so I would put the violet first, then use the flanged binding tute from the tutorials section here with the blue and the print - that way you still have some blue on the border, just a hint of it to keep the eye moving outward.

No help but I love the color combination.
Both look terrific ... it really depends on which colour you wish to to draw out (perhaps for matching with your decor?).
If you are doing a two step border, keep it simple with a pencil thin flange and then your outer colour. The width of what you have shown us looks about right! |
Oh, definitely blue!
