I am so happy, I just bought a 301 , serial number 170027. I found the serial number with some help from this board, now need other info. it is in a lovely cabinet, but somebody said it could also be used as a portable... and another thing, ,, a box with oodles of attachments,,, bobbins,(28) of them..... however, AI NEED A MANUAL.
I hope somebody can tell me where,/how to get a manual, and any discussion on the machine will be a great help. I have read many comments about the 301, and when I saw it yesterday I was in 7th heaven.. happy news, I paid $10.00 for ;it,,, been sewing on it today, seems like a dream for me..... jacie |

Congrats! That's one of the machines on my wish list! :)
What are the two letters in front of the serial number? |
Check your cabinet. I think the 301 lies in a "cradle" and you can lift it out to use as a portable (although heavier than a featherweight). The cradle is so the machine can be used in a cabinet.

Before you do anything with it you should oil and clean it unless that has been done before you got it. Good news for you, that is so great and a great price!
