I bought a material stash from a person who was moving and wanted to get rid of it. I am in heaven sorting colors and fabrics. There is a combination of cottons, linens, knits and silks.

Can I mix the cotton and linen on a quilt of should I stick with like blends?

Also, has anyone ever made a quilt with silk scraps?

Yes I have used silks. It came from men's ties that I disassembles. Silk can be a shifty devil, so I fused some lightweight interfacing for control. Cut and sew as normal. Treat your finished item as you would any silk. (Lucky you with the stash!)
