Has any one here bought and used these templates....They are made of mylar, that is supposed to be heat resistant, so you can iron over them and then they have a hole in the middle for easy removal and reuse.....They were used in a resent Fons and Porter show....found the website, but $15.00 per package....Is there value there, or should I just make my own. Have pattern for a very pretty apring table runner.....

I would buy a sheet of 'no-melt' template mylar from Joann and cut with an exacto knife and punch a hole in center with a hole punch... Mylar sheets are 8-1/2 x 11" (some bigger) and with some carefull planning could get quite a few out of one sheet....you just use them to iron the hexagon around to 'shape' them before sewing...

well i bought some hexagon ones but haven't used them. to me, they would be worth it. i'd hate to have to make many of them.

I use copier paper...make my own...free

ive used many of them- i also have hex's in card stock- the mylar ones hold up longer- but they are on the expensive side-
and you still have to be careful ironing over them- yes they are (heat resistant) but they will melt if a hot iron is actually placed right on them- you can press your fabric around the edges of them safely-
the card stock ones you get 100 or more for the same amount (from PaperPieces.com) they work as well -but after awhile the corners loose their crispness- and they do wear out-
so it is a choice to make- i have both- and use both pretty much equally- the mylar stays crisp- does not bend out of shape when you are taking them out
