I'm making a teenager quilt and am having a difficult time finding even fat quarter bundles in 'bright' batiks-even jelly rolls would be fine. (I have a small supply in fat quarters)Not the earthy tones we usually see. Any ideas? Or a fun fabric line if I can't find any? I don't care to buy 1 yrd of each bright color I find! Yikes!:)Thanks much-Skeat

I just made two quilts with Marble fabrics. They are bright jewel tone colors. Not batiks.
Both were made with Crystals charm squares then marble fabric I found at the local quilt shop. |
I drool over these Bali Pops: http://www.fabric.com/quilting-fabri...bali-pops.aspx

Have you tried Blue Bamboo? Lots of batiks.

Try www.maryjo'sclothstore.com They have a huge selection of batiks and they are less than 7.00 a yard.

I know this is no help since you are in the US and I am in Canada but I just went to a quilt shop the other day that had a deal on fat quarters, buy 7 fat quarters and get 3 free. I bought 7 plus 3 nice bright batiks. I am hooked on batiks.

www.ebay.com
I saw a bundle of FQ bright batiks for $5 last night. |
BEFORE YOU BUY JELLYROLLS, do the math. multiply the number of strips by 2.5 and then divide by 36 to calculate the number of yards you're getting.
shop around on the internet before you decide where to buy them. the prices can be pretty outrageous. if you need more than 2 strips of each fabric, you are much better off ordering off the bolt. |

The batik FQs at www.webfabrics.net are less expensive than many of the other stores. You can buy by the yard or by FQ. They range about $2.35-2.55 per FQ. They are about $3.00 at my LQS now. You can pick and choose the ones you want if you don't see a bundle that appeals to you.
Ebay can have some good deals too. |
