bright pastels

I have been to 4 shops near me looking for a fabric that has theses bright pastels in one piece!!!
Green, pink, white and (blue/and/or/purple). It's the blue I'm after, but a lavender or purple would work. Only looking for a yard or 1.5.............. everything I see adds yellow or has a yellow background. Bummer, I need white! Any suggestions ladies and gents??

Are you looking for a particular print? I have this striped fabric. It does have yellow in it but there is more white than yellow?

Check out page 157 of catalog #59 from Hancocks of Paducah _ stripe with your colors though maybe not as bright as you want.

Also, would any of these from Connecting Threads work? http://www.connectingthreads.com/fab...ml?startRow=25

I will have to photograph the material I have. Hoping for a floral of some sort.

WHY did I think you wanted a stripe?!!
Well, good luck finding what you are looking for; I'm sure it's out there.:)

Coach, what is the line of that fabric, if you would share the information. That is beautiful.

quiltmom04 09-26-2012 07:19 AM

Why do you need another fabric with all those colors? Unless you could find a stripe, you have plenty of floral action going on right now!

TanyaL 09-26-2012 07:34 AM

Have you checked out the florals at Hobby Lobby? I don't know that they have what you want, I just remember they had really pretty florals there.

Looks like you already have those colors together in each of your florals. Your tone on tone green is brighter than the other greens, or is that just the photo? I don't see any blue, so are you wanting to bring the blue in?
I see large and medium prints so is it the small print you are looking for? I have lots of florals so will check once I know for sure what to look for. Smiles and hugsssssss

mimiknoxtaylor 09-26-2012 03:31 PM

Love your fabric. If I were doing something with it I think I'd look for something to pull out the lavender

coachmatthewsvhs 09-26-2012 05:26 PM

Quilter 65, All Moda fabrics... large florals are "antiquity" and small florals are April Cornell.
Here's the thing. I have a sister who leans towards pastels. I have been collecting (from the board)..... would love to make this into a quilt for her. My problem?? Her whole house is blues. So I'm looking for the possible improbable! A floral that will have the green, pink, lavender and blue with a white background. Background yellows are out. I shy away from adding yellow also, but could be convinced. Yes, the more solid green is darker. Originally I was going to make a log cabin with the green in the center.... until I found out she doesn't like log cabins. May do a rail fence with pinwheels in one corner.
Saperry, thanks, but I think I need to stay with the same tone pink. Your flowers look like they have red. Could be theh photo!
Tonic, Your fabric is beautiful... still holding out for the color blend..... Thanks!

coachmatthewsvhs 09-26-2012 05:29 PM

Mimi, you may be right ........ even though her home is blue

purplefiend 09-26-2012 06:50 PM

Coach,
I love your fabrics, I'm a sucker for florals.
When you're making a quilt, in order for it to successful its not good to try to match everything; it can make for a boring quilt. Also you might try another tone on tone fabric, the eye needs a place to rest every so often.

Depending upon a person's taste, a quilt that has matching fabrics in soft florals might appeal to the eye in exactly the same way that a Monet impressionist painting appeals to many. His paintings have no contrast, do not come into focus until you are at least 8 feet away from the painting and are in very soft subdued palettes, yet they are in museums all over the globe. Many people do not like them, but others pay tremendous prices for them. It is hard to tell someone what color palette they should like.

Look on the selvage and find the manufacturer and the print name. Enter that in google. Perhaps you will find a coordinating fabric form the same collection or manufacturer. On my monitor your green looks very bright. They all seem to be the same hue or intensity or whatever is the correct term. I think you need a bit more contrast. The best way is to google a fabric search. Good luck

iwillquilt 09-27-2012 09:02 AM

Just a thought but if she does everything in blues the lovely colors you have choses will blend with her things and yet stand out because they are different. I hope you find what you are looking for. Looking forward to seeing your finished product.

maxnme01 09-27-2012 03:44 PM
