Hi,
I have the Brother SE400 and love it. I have figured out how to use the sewing part without any problems. It works great! However, I haven't attempted to embroider anything yet because I am a bit overwhelmed. It came with one hoop (4X6). I am not even sure how to get started. I understand about putting the fabric, stablizer, etc, in the hoop but don't know about lining designs up or if it will do larger designs. Do any of you have this machine and can you share any tips or suggestions with me. Perhaps you know of a tutorial or something that I can watch. I appreciate any and all advice!!!

Blessings!

I have the SE270D - pretty close to the same as yours . I would start with a design already in the machine - and they should already be centered on the hoop once you get it set up. Do a few on practice fabric to get a feel for them , changing the thread , etc. The machine will stop and tell you what color thread to put in next

The directions in the SE400 book are fairly clear.

Turn off the machine to add the embroidery unit. Make sure you change the foot before you start or your needle will break.
I learned that the hard way.

When you turn the machine back on it (the machine) will walk you through a few steps.

If the design you have picked takes more than one color, it will tell you when to change colors.

Don't forget to stablize your fabric.

Have fun playing with it.
