I'm making a block of four triangles that meet at the points. It makes a big ole knot there. Any way to alleviate it?

is there a way you can rotate how you press the seams? or try opening them instead of to one side?

Are you trimming off the points? I'm assuming you're sewing 2 sets of 2 triangles together first.

Good illustration, Bear.

Hey--thanks!! :D I'll try another with your tips--as soon as I clean pastures. ... I'll let you know how it goes.

I unstitch until all the seams meet and press so they lay down in a circular pattern.

You illustrated what I was thinking about, but couldn't articulate correctly. thanks Bear!

I opened seams in the second one and it was a big improvement! Bear--I tried yours--I sat right here with my square looking at your picture--but there are too many seams to decide which is which.

I'll open 'em!

Likewise. I simply don't backstitch which makes opening the seam easier. I even do this to 4-patches.
