Did you check homeowners insurance for the Babylock. My friends got fried and she got almost enough to replace it.[/quote]
Definitely check into your insurance. Power surges and lightening strikes should be covered. We had a lightening strike a few years ago that fried my TV, my computer modem (power was protected but not the phone line - go figure) and my microwave. All was covered. You pay into the insurance, so use it! |
Did you contact the power company? I know they used to replace items damaged by power outages and surges.

When I purchased my new Viking recently I also had to consider where I could get a machine serviced. I prefer to have my machines serviced locally otherwise I would have to drive 2 hours each way, leave my machine and then go back to retrieve it when ready. Local service makes my life easier.

I'd check with your insurance company as others have mentioned.
My son's computer got fried due to a power surge and the insurance company replaced it. Have fun shopping for a new machine! I loved doing that.. |
Dear Quiltin Amma,
I have the Janome 11000SE and I love it. It sews great, has tons of stitches, and the embroidery part is very easy to use. I really like the magnetic hoop and the quilting stitches. And I'm just a beginner. Some of my more experienced friends have the same machine and have made some beautiful and unique quilts with it. |
If I had the chance I would get the janome 11000 in a heartbeat. They have big hoops and great dealers. Whatever you get.. Your hubby is right you deserve it! :)

I have the Pfaff Creative Vison 5.5 and the Brother Duetta 4500...I love them both and would be hard pressed to choose between the two.
However, if I could only buy one machine-today-only one...I would buy the Brother Quattro hands down. This would be IMHO the machine to have... Kirsten |
I`ve got the Janome 11000SE I love!!!!!!!!
