HI!

I have been looking at Alex Anderson's quilt "BearWest" and love it! Especially the California poppy.

She doesn't sell a pattern for it, and I was wondering if someone here would know where I could find one!

Thanks!
Celeste

Where did you see this at? One of her shows? Which one? If I could see it I might be able to help.

The "Bear West" quilt can be seen at the link below. I believe it is the 12th one down.

I checked it out. If you save the picture and then blow it up to 200% or more you can see that it's primarily triangles. The bears and flower are applique. Looks like a large variety of shades of blue, green and neutrals blending together. It'll take alot of different fabs to recreate this. But it's worth the challenge. I did a queen size sunrise and sunset that blended that way with 1 1/2 inch squares. I used 36 different colors. It's still in the quilting process but it'll be gorgeous when it's done. I really wish I had a camera so I could post pictures of my quilts.

That sounds like a great idea! I'll see if I can persuade a computer-gifted person to help with that.

Thanks!

Debbie:
Do you have a regular camera? Take the pictures you want and have them developed then SCAN them into your computer and save them then you can send them out on the internet til the cows come home.

Camera Info: Because on another site you mentioned you were going to buy a camera I thought I'd share some unsolicited info with you. I have an Olympus D-340R Digital 1.3 Megapixels camera that I used for about 7 years and loved it. At a church retreat it was borrowed and dropped so the flash got broken so I asked around about new cameras, read stuff and several friends recommended the CANON SD600 model which I ultimately bought. I LOVE IT! Easy to operate, easy instructions, smaller than a pack of cigarettes and takes wonderful pictures. I bought mine for $249 at an electronics store. Have used it for over a year and still LOVE IT. Randy

I thought the flowers were appliqued also. Tho I am not technologically advanced enough to copy and enlarge a photo on my own :} I'm learning alot from you all. I have a cell phone camera I just only yesterday found the down-load menu on it and today I found the menu for printers and camera's on the computer. tomorrow PICTURES????? OH ! Yea the poppies. they are lovely I have an Idea for a quilt w/ sunflowers and poppies. Don't think It woulsd be to difficult to create an applique pattern. But, when I'm stymied I go to places like Michaels and browse. (I've done a little painting I found some cool pattern ideas for quilts in the glass painting pattern dept.)
