Calling all Aussie Quilters
Last evening I came across a blogsite called Aussie Hero Quilts and is run by Dee-Maree in Sydney. She is collecting quilts and laundry bags to send to our troops in Afganistan. So if anyone is interested in helping out by making bags or quilts or sending her any unwanted blocks, check out this site and email Dee-Maree or leave a message on the site.

Just a quick edit: the lady's name is Jan-Maree not Dee-Maree as posted. My apologies. Must have been half asleep at the time.

Thanks Mrs B. What a brilliant service to our people over there. I know from this board and other places that US quilters are very active in supporting their service men and women....and I felt that our people may be missing out. Will try and do something and send along.......I have some sturdy fabric that probably would do nicely for laundry bags.

Thanks for the link. I am ex-service (WRAAF) and last year we knitted scarves for the troops and did up some care packages for the service dogs and their handlers. All very much appreciated I might add. Would love to help out with quilts etc.

Thanks for the link, I'm sure I have a couple of quilts that can be donated.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to this thread. And if you go to the site and offer to help all the better. Every little bit helps.
