I would like to get to know all of you and maybe meet up someday. I live in Glasgow, MT, but often travel to Billings, Helena, Havre. On April 24th I'll be in Glendive at their Annual Quilt Festival. If anyone would like to chat please respond to this thread!! I hope to meet up with some of you someday!! Just looking to make a few more quilting friends that I can talk quilting to.

natlewis 03-23-2010 11:38 AM

That would be nice to meet, however I can't get away in April. Maybe there will be another chance another time. Who knows...my girlfriend and I are always up for a road trip to go to new quilt stores. Last month we drove down to Deer Lodge....very nice store!!

montanaquilter 03-23-2010 12:50 PM

natlewis--where in montana are you located? i was in deer lodge last summer...missed the store, very bummed. i'll have to check it out the next time i'm there.

natlewis 03-23-2010 02:02 PM

I'm in Great Falls and my quilting friend is from Shelby. My friend has been quilting for about three years now and got me interested in it. We have just taken a day and traveled to different towns and checked out shops. It's alot of fun.

chewboo 03-23-2010 02:47 PM

ok natlewis now i know who you are

natlewis 03-23-2010 04:08 PM

I know who you are too chewboo . Are you all done with your pink quilt blocks?

montanaquilter 03-23-2010 04:18 PM

that does sound like a lot of fun. i'm going to be doing the shop hop this april and want to plan a few trips to get this done but most of the shops are in great falls and helena! don't think i'll be going that far to do the shop hop. but i will haave to make a trip to billings to finish our shop hop area to be considered for the grand prize. i love going to different towns and looking at everyone's shops.

chewboo 03-23-2010 05:08 PM

yes and i mailed them off

i like the shop hop also maybe we could meet in billings during it and dottie can come down also

montanaquilter 03-23-2010 05:37 PM

oh that'd be fun!!! i'll have to check my calendar and see when i have another free weekend during that time!! that'd be so awesome if we could all go and do that, i would so look forward to it--what more could we ask for??? quilt shopping, new quilt stores to look at, good friends!!!! check your calendar and see what weekend you would want to go

chewboo 03-23-2010 05:46 PM

k and i will pm dottie

montanaquilter 03-23-2010 07:19 PM

Sede_Mae 03-23-2010 09:17 PM

Hi Montanans!!! I am a Montana Quilter...tho living in Arizna now...sorry, I don't miss the snow, but sure do miss the Summers and Mountains. From Billings and my sister is still in Columbus and brother in Missoula. I get back a couple of times a year. Have a friend who goes to the retreat in Jackson every year and says it is awesome!! Anyway, lets all keep chatting...makes me home sick :-(
Julie

Charlee 03-23-2010 09:27 PM

~sigh~ I miss Montana...at least in the summers! ;)

Hubby and I used to manage Town Pump and Lucky Lil's in Three Forks, Townsend, and White Sulpher Springs...

montanaquilter 03-24-2010 03:47 AM

hi sede and charlee--yeah i hate the winters here also!!! it lasts way too long. winters do make for wonderful times for quilting though!! spring and summers are my favorite times, it just gets so beautiful and green. if anyone is planning on going to any retreats let us know, maybe it'll work out that some of us can meet up!! wouldn't that be a blast.
it's spring here now and am loving that the snow is melted, can't wait for the flowers to start poking through.

I'm new to the forum & am liking what I see so far.
I live in NW MT - in the woods near Bigfork, 1/2 hr south of Glacier National Park & about 15 minutes from Kalispell. I'm finding there are many MT quilters on this site - nice!

H sundancer - we're practically neighbors. I'm in the woods near Bigfork.
Do you ever shop in Kalispell - Glacier Quilts, Quilt Gallery, or the quilt fabric section of A-1 Vacuum? All have nice fabric, but GQ is my fav.
My sis has been to the terrific show in Eureka when the quilts are hung all over town - must do that this year!
Maybe we can meet sometime,
Jan

I know of a couple Montana quilters who are snowbirds - flown south for the winter. When they return & check back in, I'll let them know of you.
I can also PM a couple quilters with whom I've corresponded on QB to see if they'd like to join this thread - cannot give their names w/o permission from them.
Sun is shining today in NW Montana - finally a hint of spring, snow is melting off our roof - watching drips fall from roof & trees as I write - yea!! I must change my Avatar; maybe spring will come more quickly.
Keep in touch,
Jan
