My dear husband who rarely asks for anything, has requested a Mariner's cross quilt. Now I have went and said "yes dear" however I cannot for the life of me find a blasted pattern for one! I think what he really would like is something that looks like a "compass rose". Can anyone help me out with a pattern?
Thank you in advance

Very kind of Gal288 to offer templates but I would recommend paper piecing any kind of mariners compass design. It will save you a world of frustration as well as produce beautiful perfect points. Carol Doak has an entire book dedicated to MC type stars. I am a big fan of Judy Matheison's technique using freezer paper.

Carol Doak has two free Mariner,s Compass patterns on her free pattern web site:

Just wanted to add that Judy Matheison's book actually teaches you how to draft your own so you can make them any size and you are not limited to a prepared pattern size.
Here is a link to the book of hers that I have. I highly recommend it.
