I found this little treasure at a local second hand store, and could not turn it down. I know that one usually buys a sewing machine first, then adds the goodies, but I would like to find the machine that will fit these foot/attachments.
The only identifiers on these are "Greist" (which I assume is the manufacturer) and 'hemmer', 'binder', 'tucker', etc. and then, on most of them are the words 'patent pending'. (The red is a reflection of the shirt that I am wearing.) |
The pictures are too blurry to read any numbers or letters but I know if you google 'sewing machine feet' you will find places that provide feet for all sorts/brands/models of machines and they are very helpful - they can probably assist you in identifying which machines they will fit. It has a lot to do with the shank on the machine, too. But, they will need better pictures and any identifying numbers/letters/symbols. Maybe the Greist name will be the key. Ebay has quite a few of these listed, but I don't see any info about which machines they fit.
One of the ebay sites did mention Rotary machine by Sears and Roebuck. Good luck!!

I have a brother that uses the griest attatchments
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-64951-1.htm this might help identify what they are. |
My grandma's trendel sewing machine (Golden Star) has attachments that look similar to yours, made by the Greist MFG Co from New Haven, Conn USA. You might want to try different trendel machines. Good luck!

Have you tried any of them??
Someone told me that some feet and attachments fit all kinds of machines. You may want to check. |
Usually feet will fit other machines that have the same shank. Here is a link to shank types:
http://www.clotilde.com/pages/which_foot.html The most common type of shank is the short shank. I can't tell from your photos, but my guess is that these are short shank feet. Greist made accessories for many different machines, but especially for Singer sewing machines. |
Here is a page with the instructions for the feet. There are several other things there about the Greist feet. I just found this site, so I hope you get this message, as it is several months since you posted.
