Because that's the only way I know how to do applique! Lol! I love the look of needle urn..m

My dad bought me a block-of-the-month quilt kit/club membership which utilizes wool applique blocks. I really do not want to stitch the wool shapes on using a blanket stitch or button hole stitch, as I am terrible at it and have high aspirations for this quilt! Ok, I give up trying to post using the new software with my blackberry. I can only see half of the screen! Lol!

Any tips for my applique quilt will be appreciated! Thank you!

You wouldn't need to needle turn it, because it shouldn't fray, just applique it using a similar stitch, but don't turn it under.

Ooh, so just a blind stitch? I can do that. Woo hoo!

That should do it nicely Blue. Your stitches should bury themselves in the felt anyway, so you will hardly notice them.

You're going to love working with the wool!. If you do it
by hand, it's like pulling a needle through butter. I have been trying to put a pic of mine on the forum but can't seem to do it. It's the most enjoyable applique I've ever done. I trace the applique pieces onto freezer paper, then iron it on the wool, and cut it out. By using the freezer
paper you are assured of nice crisp lines. Also, I use
sequin pins rather than regular straight pins, as they are
smaller and you're less likely to get hung up on them.
