What better place than this to ask that question?!
I have 100% Rayon Embroidery Thread (Radiant Thread) in my stash....hmmm about 10 spools of neutral colours. Can I use it to maching quilt? I would not like for it to sit around if I can't.
Thanks always for the advice.

I have....but it's not very sturdy stuff so be careful not to use it where there will be stress on it. I use it for art quilts, not for bed quilts.

If your quilt is going to be a wall hanging, and you will be quilting on a regular sewing machine you will be OK. If you are doing your quilting on a long arm, you might have thread breakage issues.
Personally, I wouldn't use rayon emb thread on a quilt that is going to be used as a bed quilt. Nor in one that will go into the washer. Rayon doesn't hold its color if you add bleach to the washer, or if there is bleach in the detergent.
Just my thoughts.

Thanks...both of you have stated basically what I was thinking. Since I don't do much other than bed size quilts, the odd wall hanging, I doubt I will ever use this thread. Now what ever possessed me to purchase it in the first place!!! Ahhhh, quilters stash building!
I may just have to put it up in the classifieds or trade forums.

Not knowing any better, I used Rayon thread to quilt two crib quilts. This was almost 7 years ago. The quilts have been used, and are still going strong.
