jelly rolls, layer cakes, and honey buns are (besides yummy treats to eat...I know a couple of jokers on this board :lol: )? Thanks!

Jelly rolls are 2.5" by the width of the fabric. Honey Buns are the same only 1.5". Layer Cakes are 10" squares. As a package, they usually have one or more of each fabric in a line.

Jelly rolls are 2 1/2 in strips of fabric. I think there 4 yards total.
I think the layer cakes are kinda of the same.
Charm pk are 5 in square of a different counts some are 30 40 or 50 depend on the fabric.

Thank you all for your quick replies! You're all angels.

Lol Beffy I love how you covered the dessert answer in your original post. You're right... that's what we all would've said! Too fun.

And then there are the turnovers, the candy bars, and dessert buffets. . .

And you have to read the label because they are not all the same because the collections don't always have the same number.

Every online quilt shop has them for sale. They are hard to resist! I check this store everyday for their daily specials on precuts

jelly rolls 2 1/2" strips;
honey buns 1 1/2" strips;
layer cakes, 10" squares
charms 5" squares
there are others but this should give you an idea.

gale 08-26-2010 09:12 AM

Yeah they're always coming up with more, aren't they.
Candy bars 2.5" x 5"
Turnover 6" triangles
And there is a 4.5 strip set (pretty sure that's the size) called a dessert roll.

I was sure I saw a 5x10 set too but maybe not...

RST 08-26-2010 10:11 AM

What would one call a 5x10 set? Snack cake? Pan of brownies?

I'm expecting cupcakes -- small rounds. Maybe they can do a jello mold too -- larger rounds, with central cutouts of smaller rounds. Or would that be a bundt pack?

nativetexan 08-26-2010 10:36 AM

yes, i wish in catalogs that sell those cuts that they would put the measurements and how much fabric for those of us who don't know.

seamstome 08-26-2010 10:39 AM

I wish thing like Bali Pops etc could be viewed because there are some really ugly fabrics buried in there.

I will no longer buy the pre-cuts unless I can see everything in there.

gale 08-26-2010 10:54 AM

My sister said she bought Bali Pops and they weren't cut right. She said they were bigger than 2.5" but it was after she had some of the sewing done when she noticed.

seamstome 08-26-2010 11:04 AM

They are not good cuts anywhere from 2 1/8 to 2 3/4. I will not purchase them again. Timeless Treasures has some Taffy somethings out. I have not tried them
