Carpenter Star quilting help needed please

Hello,

I have had this top done forever and decided to practice my feathers since my last few jobs have been E2E computerized designs for customers.

I have the star and borders with feathers and SID done. I also SID the skinning yellow border seperate from the background. I pulled the bottom off my frame to get a better look. I don't want to over quilt it and I don't want to stipple the background. I used cotton batting.

I had thought about just filling it up with more feathers, but will that be too much?

LOL It looks like it is "baggy", but it just hasn't relaxed from being rolled up on the frame. ;)

Beautiful Quilt and your quilting is beautiful. I have no suggestions but wanted to say how much I love it:)

There's no such thing as too many feathers! JMHO...I'd continue to fill it with feathers...looks beautiful to me.

Thank you for the compliments. :) My daughter came out yesterday and said it reminded her of spring or a baby quilt. I looked at her and said it better not be a baby quilt for her LOL

I think it needs something in the unquilted areas. More feathers would be fine.

Your quilting is beautiful. I love feathers, but I think something else in the remaining squares... maybe something simpler, like curves?

I had actually thought about some simple curves..... hmmmmm

I think I will let it be for tonight and step away until tomorrow. I think my brain needs a break. :)

Thanks for the help! Can't wait to see what other ideas come along from everyone.

Or how about a flower motif in the yellow diamonds? I think more feathers would be nice, but something contrasting -- even a teeny tiny stipple -- would be more interesting.
