I was checking off the names of charity quilts and quilts for Christmas gifts and I thought that I was done. Some how I missed 4 people on the list. Now I need to come up with some ideas for 4 fast quilts to make in time for Christmas. Any quick quilt ideas?

AmyBaby 10-26-2011 08:30 AM

I like the jelly roll challenge quilts.

katier825 10-26-2011 08:35 AM

Alternate a solid block with a pieced one, such as 4 patch, 9 patch. Disappearing 9 patch, some of the FQ quilt patterns are pretty quick to work up, Lucky Stars (my avatar), Yellow Brick Road. Also, even just blocks in various prints with plain sashing is quick and pretty.

QuiltnNan 10-26-2011 08:43 AM

wow, you must have a very long list to be able to miss 4. you are quite the prolific quilter. do you have any pics?

memepat 10-26-2011 08:50 AM

I like the disappearing 9 blocks.

Fraew 10-26-2011 09:33 AM

I like churn dash or monkey wrench...same block. Of fast flying geese the no waste way

ecmoore 10-26-2011 11:02 AM

I'd do one of the Jelly Roll race patterns with a couple of wide borders, or with 2 jelly rolls.

sewbeadit 10-26-2011 11:34 AM

What about one of those 10 minute blocks, I think they look neat.

gellybean402 10-26-2011 02:25 PM

How about a panel? There are some real cute ones out there!

If I am in a rush, there is NOTHING as easy as a BQ2 pattern....... Takes only about 2 hours from cut to finish. EXCEPT when doing directional prints !!! I have TWO more quilts to go and then I will be DONE for the year !!!

lukeje 10-26-2011 03:55 PM

What is the BQ2 pattern? Love this brown and blue with the horses.

I love yellow brick road! fast and easy using fat quarters

allie1448 10-27-2011 03:10 AM

I have just finished one and it took me 7 hours from start to finish for all the cutting and piecing and it is a very good size. I will post it in the photo section under the title of Big Blue Ice. Great pattern and good instructions

Happy Tails 10-27-2011 04:00 AM

cherrio 10-27-2011 04:15 AM

that bq2 looks a bit complicated. easy?

quiltymom 10-27-2011 04:17 AM

I do ALOT of 4 patch for my quilts I do for charity or donations!

Tweety2911 10-27-2011 04:46 AM

I like the sound of the BQ2 pattern. ManiacQuilter 2 I like your fabrics. I have the pattern and plan on making a few also. Good Luck in getting 4 quilts done in time for Christmas!!

Rowena101 10-27-2011 05:13 AM

These quick patterns sound good. It would be nice if the source would be written so we could look it up. I have made 8 quilts for xmas too. I made 2 stack & slash with fat quarters. As many blocks depending on how lg.you want. I made 2 from the "Turn Twenty" book. These are a couple of quick ones. I would send pic, but I need someone to help me with that process. I can sew but I'm not to computer "savvy". LOL Nancy

nwm50 10-27-2011 05:15 AM

I have this BQ2 pattern and yours looks better than what i could envision to do with mine!
But like other's suggestion....rail fence, 4 patch are among my ideas too

Morag 10-27-2011 06:15 AM

How about a pinwheel from a couple of charm packs????

Slow2Sew 10-27-2011 06:48 AM

Warm Wishes is usually my quick, go-to pattern. Also the Downey quilts that have an 8" solid block alternated w/a 4 patch is quick and easy.

I saw one on here recently do not know how to find it again. All the strips were sewed end to end then cut--or something like that, Where can I find the pattern?
Thanks, Bj

I just finished the bq 2. It's fast and easy. I was surprised because it looked hard. It's great for lg. scale fabric

jarenie 10-27-2011 01:10 PM

I like all of the BQ for a quick quilt and 4 blocks make a baby quilt.

janetter 10-27-2011 02:57 PM

My daughter and I were able to finish a "braided" quilt top in one day. Great easy pattern and looks amazing when done.

KathyPhillips 10-27-2011 02:59 PM

It looks like you have a long list of ideas. I would say the rail fence and Quilt in a Day Log Cabin go really fast. I would like to see the pattern for the D9P and D4P.

ccrow99 10-30-2011 05:43 AM

My horsey loving DIL would absolutely love that quilt. Very very nice.
