Hi everyone. This Featherweight is listed for $150 (firm), and there is no case and scanty mismatched attachments. On the up side, it has a centennial plate and the seller claims it runs. What is your most educated guess on why the finish looks so bad? I can see where the decals are silvered so that makes me suspect that it isn't just grime on the enamel. Would you all agree with me? It's too far away for me to make the trip if I'm not sure I'll purchase the poor thing.

Have any of you ever repainted a Singer with great results? Billy spoke of possibly doing a tutorial on this very subject, but I can't find it if he's posted one. I would love to see photos of Featherweights repainted by non professionals like myself.

Darn. I see the photos didn't come through large or clear enough for you to examine the finish. Wish I knew how to resize them. Maybe I can recruit help from someone more tech savy tomorrow and repost.

Some repainted (albeit professionally) Featherweights, but they sure are pretty:

Purple or red? Or lime green?
Decisions, decisions.

Sorry, I couldn't see the finish very well in the pictures to comment on the condition.
