Has anyone done a quilt using Chenelle? (Isn't that the fabric bedspreads used to be made of?) JoAnns has a baby quilt using it and I have a magazine somewhere that had a wonderful quilt in it that was squares alternated with chennelle. I would think one would need to use something to stabilize the chenelle or it would stretch out of shape, right? I would love to do one someday.

Not I.

I have seen patterns using Chenelle in them, thought them very pretty.

Hi Lynda: I did my first quilt using chenille and I was happy with the results. It was only 12" blocks as you can see but had no trouble piecing.

Ms. Mel, did you iron some sort of stabilizer on the back to keep it from stretching out of shape? Howabout you, Pam?

Ms. Mel, your is fantastic...can't wait to see Pam's. I love the look of it.

Hi Linda,
don't think I said welcome to the board yet! Welcome from Southern California. I have never used Chenelle so I can't help you on that one. Just wanted to say "hi"

Thanks Lynda. No, I didn't use any stabilizer at all. Had lots of 'fuzzies' on the floor after cutting and sewing. But no problems. Just had to be a little careful joining my points where it came to a fuzzy ridge. Just go for it! Yours will be great!

I didn't use any stabilizer when I used chenile, but a tip I was given was to sew with the chenile on the bottom.

I just posted a picture of my snowman quilt top using cream colored chenille as one of the borders.
