hey there quilters, here's a head's up!! Put a "chicken quilt challenge" on your mental calendar for late winter/early spring!!! :D

Start collecting your fabric now!! Search for chicken fabric at each shopping trip to your favorite fabric store!!

Craftybug 09-19-2008 05:17 PM

Sounds good.

auntluc 09-19-2008 07:09 PM

Any recommendations for a chicken quilt pattern?

annmarie 09-19-2008 07:52 PM

How much yardage of each fabric would you recommend?

bluebird 09-19-2008 08:31 PM

We need to be looking for applique patterns too! Please share if you find any on the net.

I usually buy 1 yd if I don't know what I am going to do with it. With this quilt, I will buy at leat 1/2 yd since I don't have a pattern yet!

I'm having fun with this......my neighbor and good friend is sooooo into chickens and would love a chicken quilt I'm sure.
Will someone please put this poor ole chicken in their quilt so he won't go in the frying pan?

sewsewquilter 09-21-2008 04:45 AM

I'm game. A chicken quilt is a prefect thing with living in the keys. Chickens roam the city of Key West. They are protected. One of the things that makes Key West fun. I have wanted to try a chicken quilt every since I saw Marcia's quilt. It is beautiful.

Sorry I"m not into chickens, but it would be a fun one. This morning I went to a store that was closing out their fabric. There was a chicken fabric with little chickens abouit the size of a dime on a brown woven-look backgrouind. I did look at it twice, but decided against it, even tho it was only $2.39/yd.
