I was at my sisters today and she told me she had an old machine in her attic that some older lady gave her 20 odd years ago, and it has been in her attic for all these years. Ask if I would like to have it. I had no idea what it was, so we climbed up and hauled it down. When I opened that case I almost died . It was a beautiful old ( but small ) black machine (Cinderella) was name on it. Beautiful flowers on it and looked like new!!! I am going to see how it sews later. Just to tired tonight. I will try to post a picture later. Has anyone heard of this brand? I tried to look it up online and can not come up with anything. The lady that gave it to her passed away years ago.
Thanks for any info. on this machine.

It's very likely a collector's item now with some value. Lots of machines were "rebranded", and I would think this one was probably named Cinderella in honor of the animated movie when it came out. That might actually make it doubly valuable. If it's a child's machine, that also puts it into a special collectible category. Having a case with the machine adds considerably to the value, as does mint condition.

I used to have a big book of vintage collectible sewing machines that might have helped identify it. You will probably need to join some of the vintage sewing machine collectors groups to get more info. There are some at http://groups.yahoo.com . Graham Forsdyke is sort of the master collectible sewing machine guru; try Googling his name and/or international sewing machine collectors society (something like that).

The Cinderella is a Japanese built machine and is a 1/2 size portable machine. It is not a toy!

Does yours have panels that come off of the frame? And if you take the faceplate (chrome plate on the left side of the machine with the tensioner)off does it have an "SK" trademark stamped on the backside of it?

I have been wanting to find one for the last year or so after a friend picked up a mint condition one like you are talking about.

The machines were more than likely named Cinderella for the fact that it is a petite machine, and to sell better in the US they gave it an Americanized name.
