Has anyone read the book The Civil War Diary Quilt? Before I buy it is it worth buying either for the stories or the quilt patterns? thanks

i have the book, no patterns in it. the block must be traced for each section and seam allowance added. I am trying to figure out which quilting friend to send the book to as a present! the girl on the cover is the only one i really liked.

I've been working on that one and the civil war love letters...:)They are both fun and if it is something you want to do...then go for it. I do enjoy the letters and journals in them. I have the book and CD's...you could trace off the patterns from the book if you wanted, but, the CD makes life so much easier:)Skeat who classifies mine as a UFO right now...waiting for winter to work on them:)Too many project, not enough time...LOL

What are the titles of those books you mentioned? Could I find them at Barnes and Noble?

I have both books also, enjoy all info on Civil War as my husband had relatives in it. The books are interesting to read I believe. I have the CDs but have not looked at them yet, too much else to do right now.
