Just to make sure I understand correctly: You have sewn the top, sandwiched the top with batting and the backing, and basted those three layers. Next is actual quilting. Are you planning to hand quilt or machine quilt?

Like this one I just did? http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-40712-1.htm

I just did a free motion quilting on it...

Hmm.. sounds more to me like you have cut out the clamshells and basted under the curved edges.. is this it or the other?
also need to know if you're hand or machine piecing if this is a piecing question.

Yes, i love it, but i'm doing it all by hand, so i jumped in last night. laid out backing, batting and started to had applique down the opcs. Is that right???
thanks lynn

I didn't baste mine as I did it all by machine, so maybe someone can help you. I just sewed them together with a 1/4" seam, turning them carefully as to not stretch out the bias edge. Did you get directions with your template?

lynnie 04-11-2010 10:17 AM

I'm hand pcs. and qilting

there was no template, I made it up myself, so I have nothing to go on except what I've seen. thanks
