Clearance kits as stash builders

Still trying to hang in on the purchasing moratorium, but that doesn't stop me from looking. Connecting Threads has some kits in clearance, one is over 6 yards total for under $18. If you get up to the free shipping, this just seems like a fine way to build stash. Anyone used clearance in kits for this purpose?

no, but as part of the UFO challenge, I'm using the fabric out of a kit I bought and abandoned because I didn't enjoy making the blocks. Kind of the same thing, just not intentional.

I havn't yet but that sounds like a good idea. At 3.00/yd is a good buy.

That is a good way to build up your stash, as long as you like the colorways. I have a couple of quilt kits that I dismantled for the fabric years ago, so go for it!!! Especially with the free shipping offer.

Nope, I don't generally buy kits because I like to pick my own colors/patterns. Sounds like you have the urge to splurge. lol Why don't you get off the no-buying-wagon for a moment, buy a yard or a FQ packet of something you really like and get back on the wagon? That's how I would handle the urge.

I absolutely agree with DebraK. Couldn't have said it better myself. LOL Plus that sounds like a good deal.

Love Connecting Threads their prices are great. I like to buy charm packs in groups of three or four of the same fabric line.
You can do alot with them. Also will buy additional yardage for borders and binding if I know I will make a quilt from a line.
Some of the packs like polka dots and stars are really useful to use as matching fill ins for blocks.
Have not done the kits yet but sounds like a good idea.
