the folks here at quilting board 'know it all' so to speak. so i am asking all of you if you have ever seen or heard of 'ColorBar' material? i have a pattern for a bargello quilt that uses 'ColorBar' material that graduates from light to dark in blues. the quilt is stunning but i have not been able to find this material anywhere.

Yes. There have been several designers over the years, not sure if there are any the past few months. It's also called graded color yardage or sometimes pointillist. Any quilt shop should be able to help you locate name of designers and manufacturers.

Or you might go to google or the manufacturer websites to search.

Caryl Breyer Fallert has a line of this. I think you might also find something if you search for "ombres". Nancy's Notions has some fabric in that line. Also look under "gradations" when you search.

I thank you for this tip also. So many times successful searches depend on the words used.
