What type of batting/batting do you use to make a quilt feel really comfy-cozy? Can this be done even without a high loft batting?

I use Warm and Natural or Warm and White.

I've used that a bit, but the quilts seem to come out very thin and not that warm.

I like just regular poly batting and no, I only use high loft if it's being tied and then only sometimes. You might try using flannel on the back but make sure it's washed first, pinned very well and use a walking foot or a darning foot. Flannel is a little tricky to work with.

I make winter quilt tops from flannel, use warm and natural batting and then use flannel for the back. It makes a heavier quilt, but it is warm and cozy for our winter weather here in NJ.

I use poly if I want a fluffier quilt. My family prefers the warm and natural though.

I use warm and natural or warm and white and I double it.... Gets to be a bit "spendy" but I don't make them that often with the double layer. Turns out beautifully though! and feels so warm.

I use W&N, with flannel on the back. Nice and cozy warm.
