Commissioned quilt - help I need an idea
A friend asked me to make a quilt which she wants to give to her mother for Christmas. All I know is that the lady in question likes all shades of blue and hummingbirds and that her style is cottage country. All my quilts are modern quilts and I have never made a traditional quilt in my life. I would appreciate all the ideas that you have for a relatively easy pattern without too many intricate pieces. I thank you all in advance for your help.

Warm wishes would be nice with the focus fabric and blue strips. there's a free pattern online.

One of the Irish Chains would be nice (single, double, or triple).

You might want to study a picture of an actual hummingbird at a flower that you could then put into fabric:

Michael Miller has a beautiful hummingbird fabric...it was in their clubhouse collection last year. You could fussy cut those with the irish chain???

Triple Rail is the easiest, quickest to make. Then you could applique the hummingbird with blooms/vines on the top, sort of in one corner/quadrant of the quilt.
